A Final Fling with Far Flung Friends

Brides, you can have a Hen Party – think one night of overindulgence in the city centre, vague memories and embarrassing pictures on Facebook the next day. Alternatively, you can indulge yourself with a Final Fling at Crear with one, two or three days of pre-wedding pampering and fun things to do with your closest friends in luxurious surroundings.

Organising a wedding tends to be stressful for most people, which is why at Crear we really would like you to relax before the big day.

As Crear weddings generally run from Friday to Sunday, we suggest that you and up to 9 of your closest friends arrive on Wednesday or Thursday to have a couple of days together to soak up the peace and prepare for the weekend of partying.

This is a great way to spend time with friends or relatives who may have travelled from far flung corners of the earth to be with you, and also an opportunity to do all those last minute beauty treatments. You will have a stress free opportunity to try out hair and make up ideas, perhaps have a manicure, pedicure or massage.

We also offer a range of practical and fun experiences such as learning to shoot, horse riding, whale watching, cookery classes, cake decoration, jewelry making or cycling. Or you can simply enjoy the company of good friends in a lovely atmosphere before the mad whirl of the wedding. By the time the rest of the guests arrive, Crear will really feel like home.

Crear has space to create a truly unique ‘Final Fling with the Far Flung Friends’ experience and it’s not exclusively for those of you who are getting married here. If you have already booked your wedding day elsewhere, Final Fling can still be enjoyed at Crear over a long weekend or mid-week break. As the perfect way to say goodbye to the single life with your closest friends, we look forward to welcoming you. As every Final Fling is tailor made to your requirements, prices will vary. Please contact us using the contact form and we will be in touch.

Why Fling?

The word 'Fling' is of Scandinavian origin from the 14th century and as it originally meant 'an attempt at something - to throw (oneself) into an activity with abandon and energy,' we felt it was the best way to describe the activities on offer at Crear from learning to shoot, sail a boat or ice a cake. The noun sense of 'period of indulgence on the eve of responsibilities' was first attested 1827 which we have have taken to mean days of unrestricted indulgence and pampering with your girlfriends. And finally dating from 1806, 'vigorous dance associated with the Scottish Highlands,' has an obvious connection.

'Fling' is also the name of Kate's dog who along with her best friend, Speckle, is well known for throwing herself into activities with abandon and energy. So come for a Fling in every sense of the word!
